The aim of the Gentle Birth Method Hypnobirth ‘The Gowri Way’ programme is to increase confidence and deepen bonding between mother, father and baby, and remove fear of the birth process.
The 4 week GBM Hypnobirth ‘The Gowri Way’ visualisation course for mothers and couples.
When to start: From 20 weeks of birth
Course detail -
This course introduces the Mental Preparation part of Gentle Birth Method, which has been developed over 30 years.
The course is ‘live’ so that it can meet the needs of the couples and provides a chat option so that individual queries can be dealt with and ensures that couples are well supported.
We teach you self-hypnosis that you can learn and use on a daily basis for birth and for the rest of your life
Visualisation techniques taught to visualise a normal pregnancy, and birthing experience
Birth Education through visualisation
Advice and visualisation for optimal positioning of your baby in your tummy
Partner’s Massage taught to couples
Partners are welcomed to attend these sessions
Movements for birth – funny walks. Micro movements with yoga, and Alexander technique posture awareness.
How to use your breath to manage surges / contractions
Pelvic birthing zone preparation techniques - with oils and a self-stretch technique
Advice on appropriate eating and supplements
Tummy wrap techniques and why you should use them
Pre and post-natal support for your baby and your belly.
Post-natal recovery, care and tips for post-natal diet

Self-Hypnosis teaches you to mentally switch off from your immediate surroundings and enter a dream world that is safe and calm. You are in an alternate state of awareness where everything around you feels distant and calm - it really is like day-dreaming. In self hypnosis, you are mentally receptive. The positive suggestions given to you along with knowledge of how your body gives birth. Gives you confidence that you have of the power within your body to give birth naturally. This prepares your body and your mind for a confident birth

Visualisation helps you to mentally “see” and affect structures within your body e.g. your muscles, your cervix, your birthing zones and promotes hormone balance. You also visualise and communicate with your baby in your womb.

Weekly Pregnancy Yoga all the way through until you give birth. Our specialised Pregnancy Yoga with Micromovements for Birth includes 30 minutes of GBM Hypnobirth ‘The Gowri Way’ at the end of each session. The yoga classes are held on Wednesdays from 6 -7:30pm. We will send you a Zoom link to join the yoga classes following your booking.
The MP3 downloads ‘Prepare for a gentle birth’ and Gowri’s ‘Continuous visualisation’ when you sign on to the course.
