In order to celebrate the birth, the achievement of the mother and the wonderful arrival of the baby, as well as support the recovery of the mother after birth, we offer postnatal treatments at the mother’s home. Considered the Fourth Trimester of Pregnancy, the 40 days after birth is referred to as ” The Sacred Window”. Adapting the traditional Ayurvedic programme that is time honoured in India, our programme promotes a quick physiological recovery after birth to make the mother strong and healthy.

Be-spoke Postnatal Programme

Our postnatal treatment includes:

• A full body Ayurvedic oil massage that includes a warm herbal Potli (bolus) [herbs are bound in a muslin cloth, which is then patted and rubbed on the body] to help it tone up. Specific emphasis is placed on the back, legs and abdomen. We also offer a synchronised massage with two practitioners for an even more luxurious treatment. At the end of the appointment, your belly will be wrapped with a cotton cloth (See below).

• GBM Massages using Creative Healing including:

o   A full digestive tone up - the digestive system is usually very delicate after giving birth. This includes treatments for the pancreas and liver.

o   A female treatment - to help the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes go back to their pre-pregnant shape, size and tone. Also, the uterus is toned, drained and supported.

• Tummy Wrapping - After the postnatal treatment the Practitioner can help you with your ‘Gowri Wrap’ and explain how to use it. The belly wrap is to help your ribs come in and support your abdominal organs better and also dissuades bloating. (The Gowri Wrap is an additional cost)

Extra treatments available on request:

• Vaginal Fumigation with herbal smoke.

• Postnatal Eating Plan
  Home visit and cookery demonstration can be arranged with our Ayurvedic Doctor for 4 Hours at £360.

These treatments are provided by 1 or 2 practitioners, ideally 2 to 3 times a week for 6 weeks, but can also be arranged daily if desired. They can be started immediately after a normal birth or if you had a C-section you can have Reflexology or GBM Massage using Creative Healing from one of our practitioners on day 2 or 3.

You can decide with your practitioner/s how often you would like to have treatments.

Cost:

• Two practitioners - synchronised treatment for 1.5 hours: £300

• A single practitioner visiting you at home for 2 hours: £200

We kindly ask all clients to arrange for babies to be looked after during treatments so that we can be time efficient and give you the best possible treatments. We would also ask you to ensure that babies have been fed just before your practitioner arrives so that there are no interruptions to your treatment.
